Oracle Database Administrator — Ensures optimal performance, security, and availability of Oracle databases. Manages installations, upgrades, backups, troubleshooting, and 24/7 production support.
Job description
Install, configure, maintain, and manage Oracle databases.
Provide 24/7 support for critical production systems within SLAs.
Perform patching and upgrades.
Ensuring the security, performance, availability, and scalability.
Conduct scheduled maintenance and support after-hours release deployments.
Perform daily checks, troubleshoot issues, and respond to monitoring alerts.
Capacity planning and management.
Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks & optimize queries.
Implement best practices for enhanced efficiency.
Develop and maintain backup and recovery strategies.
Manage and monitor user access, permissions, and database security.
Collaborating with IT infrastructure teams to resolve incidents, requests, and changes.
Independently resolve database issues in real time.
Ensure end-to-end problem resolution.
Assist in Incident Management, problem resolution and continuous improvements.
Participate in Oracle database lifecycle discussions.
Assist development and other teams with database-related issues and activities.
Maintain comprehensive database documentation.
Share knowledge with team members.
Participate in the creation and implementation of digital and AI transformation initiatives.
Job requirements
3+ years of hands-on experience as an Oracle Database Administrator
Strong technical knowledge of Oracle databases (12c to 19c) in installation, administration, tuning, and backup & recovery.
Knowledge of RMAN backup & recovery strategies.
Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments.
Familiarity with basic concepts of virtualization platforms.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Curiosity and openness to learning and growth.
Experience providing 24/7 support for critical production systems.
Oracle certifications are a plus but not required.

Database Administration & Maintenance
Install, configure, and manage Oracle Database versions 12c to 19c.
Conduct regular health checks, monitoring, and proactive tuning.
Ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance optimization.
Handling database cloning, refreshes, and migrations.
Performing database patching and upgrades.
Backup, Recovery & Disaster Recovery
Managing backup & recovery strategies using RMAN.
Manage Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions.
Performance Tuning & Optimization
Analyzing AWR, ADDM, ASH reports to identify performance bottlenecks.
Optimizing SQL queries, indexes, and execution plans.
Security & Compliance
Implementing user access controls, auditing, and security standards.
Database High Availability & Replication
Managing Oracle RAC, ASM, and Data Guard instances.
Monitoring
Monitoring database environments using Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
Automation & Scripting
Writing and maintaining PL/SQL scripts for automation purposes.
Nice to have:
Experience implementing High Availability with Oracle Data Guard, ASM, and RAC.
Experience with patching, upgrades, and database migrations.
Experience in performance tuning using SQL tuning, AWR, ASH, and ADDM reports.
