Job description

Role and Responsibilities

  • Configuration and maintenance of highly available storage and backup infrastructures:

  • Backup infrastructure (Veeam Backup & Replication)

  • Storage infrastructure (NetApp/Hitachi storage systems and Cisco SAN switches)

  • Assist other team members with maintenance of:

  • Compute infrastructure (Dell, Cisco UCS and HPE servers)

  • Virtualization infrastructure (VMware-based virtual platform - ESXi/vCenter/NSX/VCD)

  • Proactive monitoring of infrastructure and identifying potential problems (bottlenecks, misconfigurations)

  • Actively work with other infrastructure team members and CTO on improving design of existing systems

  • Create configuration templates and automate operational and reporting tasks 

Job requirements

  • More than 3 years of work experience in similar jobs

  • In-depth knowledge of Veeam B&R. VMCE certification is required. VMCA is a plus. Experience with other backup solutions (Commvault, Symantec) is a plus.

  • Advanced knowledge of NetApp systems and related protocols (FC, NFS, iSCSI, CIFS). Experience with Hitachi VSP Storage or other relevant vendors is a plus.

  • Essential knowledge of Windows/AD and Linux administration required for provisioning and troubleshooting Veeam services.

  • Experience in design and management of complex backup and restore plans.

  • Experience with disaster recovery scenarios (with focus on storage and backup systems)

  • Experience with VMware virtualization platforms (certificate is a plus)

  • Knowledge of one or more scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, Python, Perl, TCL, etc.)

  • Experience with Terraform or Ansible is a plus

  • Ability to use of NetApp/Veeam REST APIs for automation and reporting.

  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking protocols.

  • Experience with Dell servers or another relevant vendor (HPE, Cisco, Fujitsu, Lenovo)

  • Systematic approach in troubleshooting technical problems

  • Knowledge of PKI (Public/Private Key Infrastructure)
